Our two focuses in Papua New Guinea are oil and gas exploration and production, and petroleum product marketing. Our work under the PRL license includes a number of environmental and social programs addressing local communities.
Papua New Guinea is a young and dynamic country, with a very complex geological-tectonic history. But in short summary, its history has involved volcanic arc initiation, closure and accretion over the last 30 million years. This resulted in several belts of porphyry deposits in continental and oceanic settings. The first work of its kind, Volcanic Reservoirs in Petroleum Exploration summarizes the current research and exploration techniques of volcanic reservoirs as a source of oil and gas. With a specific focus on the geological features and development characteristics of volcanic reservoirs in China, it presents a series of practical exploration and evaluation techniques based on this research.

The long wait for the Papua New Guinea liquefied natural gas (LNG) project is now over, and the energy sector is transforming from a major investment vehicle into a primary revenue generator for the economy.
In fact, the project is expected to have so much of an impact during its first full year of LNG exports that PNG was projected by the Economist Intelligence Unit to lead all Asian.
